34 weeks

Another lazy Sunday! I was extremely unproductive today. I could have gotten a lot more done, but couldn't get the motivation to do much of anything. It was like 4:00 before I really did anything besides make lunch. Ugh, guess no more complaining about not having time to do things when I waste away a day like I just did.

I had Friday off though, so I did get quite a bit more done then. I have all of the prints ready to go for the baby's room except for one. (this) Need to get a few more brads and buttons for that one first, and I don't want to give away the first initial of his name yet! :) Anyways, I just want to fill the rest of the frames with patterned paper until we have pics to go in them, and then they will be ready to be put up. Yay!

Mom and grandma came up yesterday to make some alterations on the crib skirt and curtain. It was the first time my grandma has seen the baby room since we painted, so it was fun to have them up to visit for awhile. Too bad it had to snow AGAIN, so they had to go sooner. So sick of snow....

Survey::
How far along?: 34 wks 2 days
How big is baby?: The size of a honeydew! Between 4-5 lbs...gettin' bigger!
Weight gain?: At the beginning of the week I hadn't gained much, but I'm thinking I put on a few pounds over the last few days. Better watch it this week since I have an appt. on Thursday..
Stretch marks?: Yep :(
Maternity clothes?: Honestly, getting sick of them. I am ready to wear normal clothes again. Especially since a lot of my shirts are short now, so I am more limited.
Sleep?: Some nights better than others. I still can't keep myself on my left side all night...I wake up on my back or right side a lot. So hopefully it's not hurting anything. Guess it's something I'll have to ask at my appt.
Best moment of the week?: Having Friday off, even if we didn't get to go shopping. I like not having to go to work. Ha.
Food cravings?: Dark chocolate and iced tea lately. I go through those little packets of iced tea like a box a week, and I have to really use some will power not to have more than three bite-size Dove dark chocolates after lunch.
Gender?: Boy!
Movement?: Oh yeah, plenty. I was amusing myself at work the other day trying to catch it on the video camera on my phone. Got a little action: check it out. Some days it's way more, but it's still fun to see a little! (Don't mind the background noise! :)
Belly button?: Crater-like. Paul thinks it will pop, but I'm not so sure yet.
What I miss?: Feeling normal.
Labor signs?: Had quite a few BH contractions this week I think. They don't hurt, but my stomach gets tight and it feels like he is bunched up right under my ribs and my stomach is hard. I feel them a lot when I am just sitting at work, so it's kinda weird. They usually don't last real long.
What I'm looking forward to?: My first shower this weekend!! Jess and Katie are throwing one for me in Morris on Saturday, and I'm sure it will be a lot of fun!
Milestone?: I got nothin'... Getting through another week...

projects

Finally got around to taking some pics of my December Daily Album and the necklace I made awhile ago! Not the greatest lighting = not the greatest pics, but I just felt the need to get it done so I can stop thinking about it!!

December Daily: A lot of my inspiration came from this post from Elle at Elle's Studio. Looking back I wish I would have paid more attention and included the backside of the pages to make it look more finished. But that is why I wanted to do it this year...so I would know what to do different next year! It is actually my first mini album, but I am hoping to do more in the future!

Pom-Pom Necklace: I had a lot of fun making this!! It was nice to bust out the glue gun and get crafty! :)

33 weeks

Funny how time can go so slowly, yet so fast at the same time. The weeks at work feel so slow, but then the weekends come and go like THAT.

Today has been a lazy, snowy day, and we've just been hanging out. I wasted the afternoon yesterday and slept most of it away. So much for getting any scrapbooking done like I was hoping! I did finish my December Daily album, finally, so I'll have to take a few pics to share. Eventually :) I might still be able to get a page in this evening if I'm in the mood. When Paul is at home I always get distracted from what I should be doing! Imagine that!

Survey:
How far along?: 33wks 2 days
How big is baby?: Size of a honeydew :)
Weight gain?: Weighed myself on Friday, and I hadn't gone up anything since my dr. appt. Might have added a pound or two over the weekend though....
Stretch marks?: Yes. :(
Maternity clothes?: Yuppers.
Sleep?: Still decent. I'm enjoying it while I can.
Best moment this week?: Having all my friends over for a Pampered Chef party, and being able to show off the baby room! What we have finished at least.
Food cravings?: Carbs and anything starchy, and sweet stuff too. But I guess that's nothing out of the ordinary since I've always been a bread/pasta lover.
Gender?: Baby BOY!
Movement?: Quite a bit. He's been sorta quiet today though.
Belly button?: Hasn't popped yet, but the edges are raised a little. It looks sorta funny.
What I miss?: Bending over. Sleeping on my back.
Labor signs?: Nope.
What I'm looking forward to?: Shopping with my sister-in-laws on Friday at the outlets!! It's the first time I've been there so I am pumped!!
Milestone?: Hmmm...Well, I've reached the point where I've decided I'm not going out late on weekends anymore just to end up driving Paul home while he sleeps. :)

Excuse the extreme blow-out from the windows. I realize now that it makes my bump a little hard to distinguish. Haha.

32 weeks

Late again! At least I've been getting the pictures taken at the right time.. Hmm...I guess not a lot new from last week. I had a dr. appt. this afternoon, and everything looked good. Last time I was measuring ahead and had an ultrasound to check my fluid levels, and she told me today that everything looked good there too. I am still measuring a little ahead, but not as much as last time.

On Saturday I went down to Renville for a baby shower for one of my high school friends. It was a lot of fun to see her and the other girlfriends that were there too!! Her little guy was was a peanut too, and made me anxious to meet our sweet pea!!

Survey::
How far along?: 32 wks 5 days
How big is baby?: I would guess around 4 lbs
Weight gain?: +3 lbs from my last dr. appt., +32 lbs total. I am trying not to let the total lbs gained get to me too much anymore. I am actually kinda proud of myself for not gaining more than I did. I made an effort (sort of) to watch what I ate, and not over-do it with so much sweet stuff, etc. I'm hoping to keep the final number under 200 (AGH! That is even horrible to type!!!!) so we'll see what happens...
Stretch marks?: Boo.
Maternity clothes?: Some of the tops are sadly starting to not even be long enough anymore.
Sleep?: Not bad. Getting sick of sleeping on my side though.
Best moment this week?: Seeing my old h.s. girlfriends.
Food cravings?: Unfortunately, chocolate and anything sweet.
Gender?: BOY
Movement?: Lots! Some days he is way more active than others, but that's normal. This morning I got my first kick in the ribs that actually hurt a little! Most of the time he just sticks his foot (or butt or whatever extremity it is, lol) into my ribs so I can't bend over until he moves. I love when he pushes out, and I can feel his little foot with my fingers if I press my stomach, at least I think it's a foot most of the time!! :)
Belly Button?: On the verge of becoming a crater, but still hasn't popped.
What I miss?: Bending over and not having what feels like all the blood in my body rush to my head.
Labor signs?: None. Think I've had a few BH contractions, but nothing painful.
What I'm looking forward to?: Finishing the nursery soon! (Hopefully!!) Almost there!
Milestone?: Nothing in particular really that I haven't already mentioned...

31 weeks

Kinda late on posting this week...we had a semi-busy weekend, then both Paul and I were sick with some sort of stomach bug the last couple days. So not fun. It was the first time I threw up the whole time I've been pregnant. And now the muscles in my stomach are sore. I am just glad that nauseous feeling is gone...that is the worst. Anyways, enough about me being sick. I'm going to get right to the survey so I can go plant my butt on the couch and eat supper...

How far along?: 31 weeks 5 days
How big is baby?: The size of a squash
Weight gain?: I've been fluxuating within 4-5 lbs the last couple weeks. I haven't gone over what I weighed at my last dr. appt. Hoping to keep it around that until my appt. next week.
Stretch Marks?: :( Sadly, yes, more are starting to show and get a darker day by day.
Maternity Clothes?: Ya.
Sleep?: Most nights pretty good, unless my back is bothering me.
Best moment this week?: Finishing our registry and hanging with our friends Sunday night for the Super Bowl.
Food cravings?: All things not good for me, in general...ha!
Gender?: Boy!
Movement?: Lots!
Belly Button?: Not much change since last week.
What I miss?: Sleeping on my back, being able to put on/take off my shoes easily.
Labor signs?: None, maybe a few BH contractions, not sure tho.
What I'm looking forward to?: Feeling ready, and having everything on my 'to-do' list complete.
Milestone?: Less than 10 weeks to go.....exciting but also makes me a bit nervous!

Paul took this week's pic for me. Standing against the bright green wall in the nursery! Hopefully be able to share pics of the FINISHED baby room soon! :)

Tri-Color Pasta Salad

I love pasta salad, so I'm always on the lookout for new and delicious variations. When I came across this one on Mel's Kitchen Cafe, I knew I had to try it. As if I had any doubts, it was great! Paul even likes it, so bonus points there! We've made it a couple times now, and I know I'll be making it much more. We found that we like it better warm (although it is also good cold!), so I try to make it close to when we'll be eating it. I like to bring it for lunch at work too, and then I just stick it in the microwave for a minute. The picture was kind of an after thought, so it's not real fancy. And honestly, this is how we end up eating it a lot of the time...strait out of the mixing bowl! Ha! I also didn't have any fresh basil or pine nuts so those are missing this time, and I usually leave out the onions b/c raw onions don't agree with Paul's stomach most of the time...so I just shake in a little onion powder.

Tri-Color Pasta Salad
Recipe courtesy of Mel's Kitchen Cafe

12 oz. Pkg. Tri-Colored Rotini, cooked and drained
2/3 c Creamy Caesar Dressing
3 whole Roma tomatoes, chopped (or grape halved grape tomatoes)
1 can Black Olives, drained and sliced
1/4 c Red Onion, finely diced
3/4 c Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
6 whole Fresh Basil Leaves, cut into thin strips
4 Tbsp Basil Pesto
2 tsp equal parts Black Pepper, Salt, and Garlic Powder
1 c Pine Nuts, toasted

Cook pasta and coat with Caesar dressing while warm. Add the rest of the ingredients (minus the pine nuts) and toss. Top with toasted pine nuts.

YUM!! :)
